Chiropractic Schools Students who are seeking an innovative and alternative education, may be interested in the prospects of enrolling in one of a number of chiropractic schools and colleges in the United States or in Canada.

Today, there are several academic options for aspiring doctors of chiropractic; however, it is critical that students gain the necessary education prior to enrollment: in most cases, it is essential that students have acquired at least ninety semester hours in one of several subjects, including but not limited to social sciences, math, English, humanities, biology, physics, etc.

Chiropractic schools and colleges extend a variety of educational opportunities to prospective students including financial aid and even scholarship programs. Be sure to carefully examine chiropractic schools prior to signing up for enrollment, as each school or university varies from one another.

Some chiropractic degree programs provide a plethora of undergraduate studies to students, which can be beneficial for those students wishing to pursue a doctor of chiropractic degree. Common undergraduate studies offered at a number of chiropractic schools may include academic programs in biology, psychology, life coaching, business, exercise science and nutrition.

A good chiropractic education will sometimes offer pre-chiropractic coursework for those students who wish to follow a doctor of chiropractic education but have not yet attained prerequisite and mandatory semester hours or degree from an accredited college or university. In addition to providing educational programs in doctor of Chiropractic, a few chiropractic schools and colleges integrate in-depth graduate programs involving concentrated areas of study including internship programs, chiropractic sports sciences, Injury management, and other sports coaching prospects.

Comprehensive curriculums provided by accredited chiropractic schools and colleges commonly include studies in chiropractic philosophy, spinal anatomy, biochemistry, osteology and arthrology, spinal biomechanics, neurophysiology, CPR, nutrition, neuroanatomy, pathology, skeletal radiology, human development, and a myriad of related subjects and sub-topics.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job outlook for successful graduates of chiropractic degree programs is promising. "Employment of chiropractors is expected to grow faster than average for all occupations through the year 2014 as consumer demand for alternative health care grows." [1] In addition, entrepreneurs who have completed all requirements of selected chiropractic schools can anticipate lucrative earnings of $46 - $118k per year. [2]
